exhaust noise

Hi

I believe some 7's may have similar engine set ups as my merlin.........does any one know where i can either get an off the shelf box or a solution which is quieter but does not stifle the engine. Reluctant just to try any old box from kwik fit !

The Merlin has a 2lt Pinto engine plus piper cam and stage 3 head - some italian sounding carbs as well de ortio or something !!Anyway, it has a very loud exhaust which i would like to quieten but not spoil the performance. Silencer is under the running boards . Any ideas please - also any hints on general sound proofing - wife complains !!

A lot of Caterham owners swear by Powerspeed exhausts.

Sure - Raceco is the best you can buy and the most well made, but they aren't cheap - upwards of £400. They have a website and I also have Ammo's contact details if you want them...they'll custom make you a titanium and stainless exhaust and it'll ensure that you don't trip the noise meters anywhere.
