For the first time ever, Caterham Cars is offering zero per cent finance to buyers of all new models powered by the outgoing Rover K-Series engine. This means you can buy an entry level Caterham Classic for a deposit of just £3,374 and 24 monthly payments of £399.

The lightweight and free-revving K-Series engine has powered the Caterham range for 15 years and is proudly linked to its world record titles including 0-60mph, 0-100-0mph and fastest production car lap of the infamous Nurburgring. With variants available from 105 to 165bhp, the K-series provides devastating performance in Caterham 7 Classic, Roadsport and Superlight models.

Additionally, in a first for the specialist sports car market, Caterham has introduced 12 months RAC breakdown cover as standard on its entire range of new and used cars.

Caterham boss Ansar Ali said: "Driving a Seven is all about the heart; excitement, passion and drama. With our outstanding zero per cent finance offer and breakdown cover, a Seven will also appeal to your head."

Caterham's clearly keen to shift its stock of K-series engines so it can get cracking with the new Ford-based cars. these will use the Ford Sigma -- aka the Zetec-SE, also known as the Duratec in the Mk II Ford Focus. The new powerplants will be propelling Caterhams from the end of 2006.

They've done similar before. The story fails to mention it's a PCP deal with a hefty final payment once the 24 months are up!

Indeed you have, my friend! Take a look: www.caterham.co.uk/finance/index.htm

And to Mr. SJG, if you look at the website it says that there is a deposit of £3,374 plus 24 months of £399! This adds up to £12,950 which is the total price of the classic CKD kit - hence no big fee after the 24 months!!

Ooops, you're right. I don't know what I did wrong with my quick maths, but I somehow ended up with rather less than 9576!
