I am currently running Avon ACB10's 185 50 13's which are no longer produced.

It appears my options are CR500's on a 55 profile. How do I work out if these will work?

Did Avon tell you they no longer make them? They are still on the website here. The CR500 is a radial tyre as opposed to the crossply ACB10 but, by all accounts, will happily work with the same camber settings. I'm running CR500s at the moment and they are a great road tyre - probably the best I have tried on the Caterham - and still good on track although not likely to provide the ulitmate grip that ACB10s will.

Michael - if you're looknig to sell the car, why worry about changing the tyres? Equally, loooking at your thread on spark plugs, much better off to have the car serviced by a specialist before selling it than trying to do a diy job yourself

The CR500 are a good tyre, they wear pretty well and in dry running them the opposite way will increase life as well

you need to change the camber from the ACB10 settings though, they are a radial tyre and need some static camber

Car needs an MOT and the rears are on the limit.

Spoke with Caterham and they suggested CR500's will run without mods.
