Lotus 7 club quarter mile day at Avon Park tomorrow
Discussion
Surprised to not have seen it cross posted here, but it looks like quite a few Caterhams are going to the Avon Park open day.

Good to meet you Mick finally! I consistently did 11.7s on road tyres which would have meant 3rd overall, but for Dave Edmands' gearbox failure. He very kindly lent me his slicks to beat Arnie and I got the winning 11.3 straight away... which was about all the clutch could manage! Great fun, and very hot.
LMAO:
Dave loves to dispute all power figures except anything from HTR. On this occaision I cannot agree his attitude was a sprit of cameraderie, it was much more but a compelling urge to see me lose and go home without the trophy. I admire his resolve and that of his henchmen for that though, it makes for an amusing event.
The Duratec was stunning and I am certain it is as powerful as claimed. How much of the top end can be attributed to sheer grunt, and how much goes to my lack of a toneau cover is an unknown, but be sure I do not wish to undermnine Danny's success, but based upon Daves engine output, drag and weight are still clearly the most influencial factor in terms of times and ET speed. Sadly a car designed for drag racing, with no front wings and the front wheels of a bicycle, would have prevented me from legally driving 300 miles to and from the event. Not retrofitable for next year though......
The speeds and times between Danny and I at 1/8 made for the most intersting reading - I appear to be more accelerative but with less traction in the first half, with other elements coming into effect in the second 1/8th. Its for this reason I think I'll be back next year when I've got a few of the trick bits bolted back on the car I simply did not have time to implement this time around.
It would however, have been a more interesting day had Graham Ford, Paul Gibb, the V8's and Adam Hay's car been there, and we both would have surely lost to some of them.

Looking at your times/speeds v Danny's it's transparent that his is the faster car for he's pulling an extra 5 mph over you in the second 1/8th - that's a lot in drag racing.
You talk about poor sportsmanship but then enter your car in the under 260bhp class having publicly reported a figure of 263 bhp at Steve Greenauld's. You need to face facts, your car is a mid 11 second car that wont crack 120 mph terminal speed. In it's current state of tune it will quite frankly never break the 10 second barrier regardless of your claims (In fact its no quicker than when the car was featured in CCC in the mid 90's).

Just noticed this thread .. Danny have you seen we've got a Cerbera under 12seconds? (3 runs all at 11.9secs) thought you might be interested as an ex Cerbie owner
