My name is Guy and I am a lurker...

I've just bought this lovely 7 from Steve (top fella) and driven it down to the sunny South coast...

www.pistonheads.com/sales/76821.htm

No one told me about the result of hitting standing water though - that was a rude babtism after a two hour motorway drive.

I'm sure i'll be on here from time to time asking silly questions and acting like the noob that i am. But rest assured that i'll do it all with a grin.

If there is anyone in this neck of the woods (east sussex) that fancies a beer this coming week(end) i'd love the excuse to get out and meet up. Thats all I have really just wanted to share with you all in that "oh my, it's finally mine" feeling.

Thanks for that tip. I met some guys from my local group just after I brought the car home. Blatchat seems a good resource too but the subs are quite high as a first impression its a shame that the forum is restricted to members only.

As for the Blatting - oh my oh my - I went out today and didn't want to come home but eventually 'rain stopped play'. I'm sure in the future the lack of rear traction will be great fun but i thought it best not to push my luck.

Lets hope tomorrow will be sunny

The Lotus 7 Club is more than just Blatchat. The Club in its present form has been running since 1974 so predates the Internet by a long time. As well as their monthly magazine, being a member allows you to participate in loads of club run events - including excellently organised track days, BBQs, road driving events, handling days and lots more.

I joined the Club just before I took delivery of my Seven in 1996. I didn't discover Blatchat until 2000.
Having siad that, Blatchat has become its most important resource, in my opinion.

AS Eric said, the "high subs" (the cost of a tank of petrol) give you more than just Blatchat!
