R400 Noise levels

There were R300, 400 and 500s at a trackday on Anglesey on Good Friday and they didn't get black flagged - I think the noise limit there is less that 105.
I tested my new duratec at anglesey there last Saturday, on the throttle body side of the car with jonny stood on the pit wall we got 98,99 and 100db at approx 8-10m from the car @ full throttle. As far as i am aware they have no noise meters at anglesey but look out for noisy cars and ask for them to be checked, I suppose this may change when the revamp starts later this year and they may get some meters installed.
Cheers

I didn't realise Anglesey actually do a noise check or have mikes? But 105db is pretty noisy. Why not ask the organiser - which track day is it? (I'm there on May 10th, and very loud!).
MSV are organising it (3rd May) they were unsure and offered a free noise test before I go there but as its £99.00 I think I'll take a risk and just turn up on the day.
Brands will pull you up for noise but its VERY rare.... i got stopped last time i was there because my exhaust was out of packing and i was way beyond 110db on a static test but that is just a silly amount of loudness. In all my years of going to trackdays im about the only person who i know who has had a problem there. an R400 wont even break 102-ish

Cheapish option is the Caterham 7" silencer - not repackable though.
If you want a repackable silencer then Raceco do a really nice titanium sleeved one or you could try any of EBD, Powerspeed, Techcraft (don't have URL), etc.

The Raceco is by far the best IMHO and that of a huge number of Caterham owners.
It's very light and yet very quiet (relatively speaking) but you still will struggle as most of the noise on R300/400/500 comes from the induction side so you'll be needing an airbox to help calm that.
On those you're looking at either the Reverie/ Caterham one (circa £450) or I think there's a bulk buy on Blatchat at the moment for a Pipercross one which is cheaper.

My car is a 227bhp K series and I was measured at a recent sprint - the result was 94 db @5000 rpm (about 2/3 max) 0.5m from the pipe. This is using the Caterham 7" race silencer. If you are reading 105db then you need to get a bigger silencer.
I am also running a Bernard Scouse airbox to reduce induction noise.

For what its worth , my r400 registered 105 db at the noise test at Goodwood.
This is for a standard " road " car with standard short silencer and cat bypass pipe.
5000 miles from new.
Did a track day at Brands last year and had no problems
yep, packing all gone after that sort of mileage i would imagine. My packing went in about 5 trackdays.
