they all look the bloody same but i'm quite chuffed with it so thought i'd post a picture. intend on keeping it aeroscreened and not wearing a helmet other than for trackdays.

got it saturday afternoon, sunday afternoon got a load of gravel sprayed in my face from a lorry passing the other way whilst on a blat.

painful, but character building.

makes all sorts of funny noises too.

quite a quirky sort of car really.

All Caterhams make many noises you don't hear in a normal car! In an R300 you may get the odd pop and bang from the exhuast and clonking and whining from the diff and gearbox. Remember you are seperated from the transmission by one sheet of alu and no sound deadening so you will hear a lot more than you normally would!

You might want to invest in some very good biking goggles.

Small stones at 80 mph can make quite a mess of you eyes, but the aero is good fun.

Echo that, and definitely get ballistic goggles - i.e. shatterproof plastic. If you're overtaking at high speed it can be very dangerous to get a stone in the face! I wear my helmet on anything but a bimble around the block. IMHO!

The roadsport SV I have access to makes whirring noises from the diff, when not under load. Glad it's normal.

Got a 3 day blat from Manchester area to Fort William and surrounds sorted for early May. Really looking forward to that apart from the troll up the M6 / M74

I can second all those comments about protecting your eyes - you've only got to look at the size of the stones in your lap after a B road blat to understand what damage one could do if it hit your eye at speed.... not nice!

Car looks good though, hope you enjoy it as much as I do mine - truly addictive

to all the posts regarding goggles, i have just acquired a pair of wiley sg1's which seem to do the trick. i've had a spray of stones from a lorry coming the other way already... battlescars are all part of the driving experience...

Ahhhh memories! I am very jealous!

I don't think my new car will give me quite the same rawness as I had from my Superights!

Enjoy!

I tell you what, driving from Pieland to The Trough of Bowland takes me about 15 minutes in my Pilchard and when I get there, it feels like you've just survived something - and that's usually before the burglars have got back!

Jousting with regular traffic holds a similar appeal to that of tea & chipsticks with Arthur Scargill.

The concept of Scrotesville to Scotsville in a 'ram verges on the painful! Are you insane?

Bravo!

(Actually, I've done this 4 times: anyone want an as new R400?)
