Hi all,

Finding Cortina uprights has become a nightmare and the replacement cast ones you can buy are a bit expensive (especially as a student!!)has anyone attempted fabriacting their uprights? and if so how do you go about it? Is there anyone out there that sells cheaper uprights I can use?

I'm not familiar with anyhting but the new Caterhams which have their own uprights. Is this a Caterham you're wanting to fix ??

You may find more varied knowledge on the kit car forum

As a student, have you got access to a machine shop, you could make your own

The current Caterham ones are a mod of a Tiumph Herald one!!

Prolly doesn't help but it sprang to mind.

Didn't know that !!

It must be quite a big mod as the originals used a gunmetal trunion rather then the current lower ball joint

Would also be an interesting retro fit on a Spit/Gt6 etc

Funny enough I was having a chat with a Locost owner about this at a Cranfield Open Day last week. He said they were investigating doing a short production run for a few people. Might be worth having a butchers on the Locost forum and see if you can find him!
