The end of Arch Motors Chassis ??
Discussion
I see with great sadness on the Caterham Official website, that Arch Motor are to be replaced with a new chassis manufacturer, who will offer lazer cut, robot welded chassis from next year. Caterhams new management are patting themselves on the back for keeping the manufacture in the UK, seems to me there can only be one reason for this action, and thats to make them cheaper, don't Caterham's management realise that the Arch brazed chassis is one of the few really perfect components on thier cars, and the one bit that links them to the original Chapman designed Lotus 7.
What's the betting that the new suppliers are the people who already produce the fancy dashboard frame for the new car, which has been critisied by the press for being so badly made ?
A very sad day.

Fancy dash is actually made by Arch motors currently. I think it looks good and I am unsure where the poorly made accusation comes from? It has exposed welds but they are there for a reason because it is a structual item.
I believe the new chassis will be metric and that Caterham are probably looking to reduce the tolerances in the chassis.
