Composite race seats wider on SV chassis?
Discussion
Hi!
I went to a dealer to seat in some cars.
With the S3 chassis the standard composite race seats are a bit too narrow for me. By comparison the carbon seats are a better fit for me (I believe they are 10-12mm wider).
The dealer told me that with the SV chassis the race seats are of the same width, and in fact he showed me used cars where you could see it was the case.
However in some US forums there are claims of SV cars coming with the wider Tillett B6 XL seats? Is this the case in the UK?
What would be the right setup of chassis + seats for someone with 177cm and about 87kg?
Thank you

I’m a very similar size and find the standard Tillett seats in an S3 very comfy (I can’t move).
By coincidence I bumped into the Caterham Experience team at Goodwood this week. They had a 420 cup SV there. They confirmed the seats were wider, and, let me sit in & try it.
They felt marginally bigger, I’d need to try it for an hour to say whether they are comfy.

The standard Tillett felt a bit narrower in my back. I definitely need to test drive both. By coincidence I bumped into the Caterham Experience team at Goodwood this week. They had a 420 cup SV there. They confirmed the seats were wider, and, let me sit in & try it.

The S3 also has a smaller space for feet, which is another worry.
Thanks for your input!
I had an S3 R300 with Tillets, and although they were comfey, they were a little narrow across the back of my shoulders.
I later test drove a CSR with Tillets, and they were perfect for me. I never quite found out which model tillet they fitted into the CSR, but you should try those.
I did later sell the S3 car and bought an SV chassis.
