Gents,

Was looking at the old pilchard container t'other day and remain resolutely unhappy about the aesthetics of the 13" jobbies. They just don't fill the arches properly and the local yardies are distinctly unimpressed.

I know, I know: this misss the point entirely but a few morsels of advice, info & opinion, if ye'd be so kind...

First up, if you had two sets of wheels and tyres, does the mere act of interchanging have any (significant) effect on balancing?

Seccond, how much would a set of anthracite spokers, fully shod each, cost?

Third, just remind me (again!) - what's the accepted wisdom viz a vis this issue ito real driving feel?

Oh good grief!

If it's aesthetics that you are worried about, then why are you riding around in a Caterham in the first place?

I don't believe that Caterham sell the 15" bling-sters in an 8" wide (for the rear), but if you want to stick to 6" all round then it'll be about £106 a corner, plus tyres.

But you really, really don't want to do it. It'll be heavier, with greater unsprung and rotational mass. And your disks will look puny as well.

He'd probably use a radical even less than the Caterham. IMHO he should at least do a trackday before selling the Caterham.

Noooooooooooooo!!!

Buy if you must Caterham's new 10 spoke anthracite lightweight R400 jobs are £105.75 each plus the vat and whatever tyres you fancy.

The other thing to remember is that there is a much larger selection of track tyres available in 13" and they're much cheaper.

But if you just want to pose on theroad I don't suppose it matters.

There are any munber of people selling 2nd hand 15" and 16" Caterham wheels as they realise there error and buy 13", see the classified here and on Blatchat.
