Goodbye old friend

Today, after nearly 18 years and 50,000 miles, my beloved Renault Sport Blue Supersport has moved on to a new, younger owner.

I have many fond memories of the car and the events and places we've been to, but mostly the sheer fun of driving "that bloody stupid little car", as my late wife lovingly referred to it. Nothing else could compare to it.

I was considering letting mine go recently, until I thought about that exact picture….


Seeing my car drive away from me forever…. That made my mind up it was staying….. for a lot longer

And the adventure continues…. Cherish your memories, make new ones in other ways, and take satisfaction that your car is now guiding someone else on their road to happiness.

We don't own these wonderful little cars, we just look after them for the next custodian.

Thank you everyone. Seeing it driving away reminded me of the comment by Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails when he heard Johnny Cash's version of his song 'Hurt' - "It was like someone kissing your girlfriend"
But I could tell it was going to a good home and that Tim would look after it and enjoy it every bit as much as I did.
All good things got to come to an end

A big thank you to CanAm for reaching out on my “buying advice” thread a number of weeks ago, a gentleman and a pleasure to correspond with. The car certainly does have a good new home and I’m sure it’ll create many new memories. Pleased I can keep it within the PH gang as well
