Which alternator on 1700 Supersprint?
Discussion
I inherited a 1700 Supersprint crossflow with my TVR Vixen project that the previous owner had purchased from a Caterham owner, who was upgrading to a Zetec. I rebuilt the engine, checked out the type 9 five speed it was mated to and have built the car around this powerplant.
I am at the stage in the restoration of being ready to rewire the car, from scratch, and would like to know which alternator I have. It has no plates or labels, only numbers stamped into the cast aluminium casing stating 053 CE and GEU 206.
Were the same alternators used on all Supersprint builds, if so, what details please, or does the letter/number stampings identify it?

Spot on, that’s the one, many thanks. If this means you recognise it because you have the same on a car you own, can you tell me if both of the two larger spades have an external cable connection or just one of them please? I understand that on certain alternators this is a common connection as they have an internal link.
