Gearbox issues - R400 - 6 speed

Hi Folks,

Loving my recently acquired R400D.

Unfortunately it looks as though I need a new gear box. (cracked casing)

I've had a hunt online but struggling to source a replacement. Does anyone have an idea who might be able to supply a replacement 6 spd (would also consider a 5spd mazda box). I've tried ebay etc and all the usual suspects but not having much luck finding anything.

Probably wouldn't be cost effective if there were plenty of supply of replacements, but if the internals are ok, can the gearbox casing not be welded? Might need stripping out to do it depending on the crack, but then you can have a bearing and synchro refresh at the same time. Try asking Road and Race Transmissions if you've not done so already?

Thanks Bert, managed to source one locally now which is off for a refresh prior to installation. Now I just need to find a bell housing!
