I think that a lot of the contributors weren't Caterham owners in any case. Soem fell (fall?) into the anti- subscription camp and some of these people post on Seventorque. Others left the fold but realised that the Blatchat resource was worth the price of membership and rejoined the club and continue to contribute to the forum.

I guess you're no longer a club member?

when my membership came up for renwal i couldnt think of a good enough reason for joining again. my involvement with the club consisted pretty much of just my aggravating presence on blatchat so it was probably best for all concerned

oh, and when every other post was about that nemesis bloke or about running a 600lb/12oz spring combo CBA really did start to settle in

Good to see you posting jackal :-) I am RobM from blatchat :-)

Sadly, I sold my Caterham at about the time that blatchat became members only. I let my membership lapse the following month so now I have been truly removed from Caterham ownership! I was kinda hoping the blatchat might keep my mind on sevens to stop me buying something else instead!!

You're right, I was the one mad on NSXs, but I never actually owned one sadly!

My car situation is having a low point at the moment.. The old 325i cost me £3k in repairs over Christmas so I chopped it in. Shortly afterwards I sold the seven and now own a 200 model 330ci. Trouble is, the 330ci has such a bad delay on the fly-by-wire throttle it is undriveable IMHO so I'm having to sell it after only four months of ownership!! £££££...

Not sure about the Caterham - it was far and away the best road car I've ever owned, and the R300 that I borrowed from Caterham every year was just sensational :-) I think I may concentrate on racing in the future (Caterham or Sports 2000). I'm buying my first house soon, and it will have a garage big enough for a race car and a workbench :-)

My posting on Blatchat had eased off towards the end anyway, but the membership thing nailed it (in many ways it underscored the stuffy nature that the club has a tendency to exhibit).

The site's still a fantastic resource for the new/propective Caterham owner, but I found the fun side of the site had disappeared and it had become extremely tedious.

Only one thing would persuade me to join the club again - Le Sept. Fantastic trip. Bit of a shame it's so closely tied to the club these days, as a while ago the club were prepared to let it drop (Barbara Swift saved it, almost single handedly). But when I can guarantee being around in July again, I'll go.

Still some great people in 7 circles though who I'm glad I can call friends, and I enjoy meeting up with them when I can. Even the ones with a penchant for pink gay cars

Scuffnut - ex of Blatchat.
