Last time out my car measured 99.99999999999db on the noise tester on a 100db limit day (think the TDO was being kind and let me on).

There is nothing on my can to denote who it is made by - is riveted on the front and seemingly sealed on the back. I'd have a go at re-packing if I thought it was feasible, or if not who does the best replacements these days? Don't want to strangle the thing but would like to consistently get md 90s or something on noise tests to make arriving at the track a little less stressful with not knowing if I'm going to get on or not!

I wonder whether induction is also contributing - she is on roller barrels.

I've got an R400k VHPD on RBTB's and I'm off to Bedford next Monday and hoping I pass!

My car is now temporarily running a Raceco titanium silencer, it's massive compared to the standard unit and definitely made quite a noticeable difference on the one time I've driven the car since fitting. Let's just hope it's quieter when measured scientifically!

I also have a Reverie carbon airbox, which I am assured makes a big difference to the foam filter. I've never driven the car with the foam filter, but there's quite a bit of induction noise as is!

I had the largest Raceco silencer possible on my SuperlightR and that seemed to do the trick (repackable as well).

I keep seeing Raceco mentioned - not sure they make them anymore?

Also PowerSpeed - but again I spoke to them today and not making them anymore.

Eeeeek!!

Raceco are a one-man-band (Mike Riley) who makes each one by hand.

His website is still live - try giving him a call on the contact number. smile

Indeed - just spoke to him, very helpful chap. am going to do some more research on what exactly I've currently got on Wednesday when I'm with the car and get back to him. Excellent ..!!

I have the same car and same set up as you including roller barrels plus my K-series engine revs to 9k.

I had a new exhaust custom made by Simpsons Exhausts and although it helps, it is mainly the induction noise it fails on so I would suggest you look closely at that.

It is fine at Spa, Cadwell, Oulton & Anglesey for instance, but it can be a bit 'tricky' at Brands and Bedford. Forget Goodwood as they are super strict there.

Thanks - what have you done about your induction noise?

What does your car measure with the Simpson?

I haven't done much about the induction noise as I'm still running the Pipercross foam filter. I have fitted noise absorbing material to the underside of the bonnet though.

The Simpson exhaust measures around 93dB statically at noise testing.

Out of curiosity, are these 'cat in the can' exhausts, or are you guys running without cats entirely?
