Hi Happy new year ....
I have almost finished the restoration of my 1972 Lotus 7 S4, however I have encountered a weird problem. Whilst trying to refit the bonnet onto the chassis the bolt holes would not line up and were around 4-5mm out of line. I tried everything until I discovered the the sway bar drop links were touching the bonnet . I loosened the drop links and sway bar and removed, the bonnet then fitted exactly where it should and I was able to bolt it on.
I then refitted the anti roll bar and drop links but to get them back on I had to move the bottom sockets/bushes sideways about 40mm away from the correct fixing positions , the bar is now on and doesn't contact the bonnet . HAs anyone else had this problem , even better if there is another car close to where I live it would be great to actually view this and compare to mine.. I live in Nth London/Herts....
