One of my son's mates had his 4WD written off when another driver ran a red light, the other drivers insurance company offered far less than the car was worth, which obviously didn't make him very happy.
He rang the same insurance company to get a quote for insurance for the vehicle as it was before the accident, the offered cover met his expectation so he asked for the written quote to be faxed to him and then went back to the company with their quote and had his payout increased by over 100% and they gave him the car back, it is now a farm vehicle.
Just a thought.
