Hi all

I’m sure this has been discussed before, but after searching for all of 30 seconds I thought I’d just ask.

What are the general preferences when it comes to insurance?

I’m waiting on a quote from Lloyd & Whyte

Reis won’t insure me as it’s been over 12 months since I had a decent car!

And that’s all I can think of off the top of my head

Footman James works for me and have done for the last 4 years. They’re cheap enough at £210 this year with a guaranteed agreed value policy (£31k for my 2012 R300D) and don’t take the piss with their renewal quotes.

A-plan have a dedicated specialist team at their Thatcham branch.

Whether they're cheapest or not depends on your circstances of course, but you won't get better customer service than you get from Carlie and the team.

Cue loads of replies saying how their experience is different....

My experience matches yours. Can’t fault A-Plan at Thatcham.

Another thumbs up from me for A-Plan. Insured my 420R without a quibble, despite living in a busy part of London and the car not being parked at my house. They were great to deal with. Possibly if I’d gone with a high street insurer I might have got it cheaper but I always prefer to insure my weekend cars with people who understand the marque. I also don’t mind spending a few more quid to avoid going through tedious call centres.
