New (to me) CSR
Discussion
After a few weeks of eager anticipation my CSR was delivered by Turn 7 on Friday, it had been in a slightly neglected state when they acquired it, and has now benefitted from a respray in McLaren Orange, new gearbox (the original was straight cut), rebuilt diff, suspension overhaul, refurbished carbon and seats.
First drive yesterday proved a little challenging, it has a sintered clutch which is more like a switch and requires quite a lot of concentration to pull away smoothly, not helped by it kangerooing (which in fairness my old K series used to do, but it was easier to dip the clutch to smooth things out).
It is fitted with the optional track suspension, which is a bit firm for me (but probably great on circuit). Fortunately Meteor motorsport are just up the road so will have them fit more appropriate suspension (and possibly a clutch).
And despite the diff having been rebuilt it howls a bit on a slightly trailing throttle, is this a case of TADTS?

Dream colour. Agree unless track only, change clutch and get comfy suspenders the you have a fab dual purpose blow your brains out car. Enjoy
Suspension now fitted, still playing around with damper settings, fortunately for me (unfortunately for the supplying dealer) it has an oil leak which will need the engine out to fix, so a new clutch will be fitted, saving me the labour costs.Gassing Station | Caterham | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
