Afternoon all,

Well I have this week re-acquired an old friend, I parted with in 2012 - K Series R300 Superlight on roller barrel throttle bodies.

She is currently (and has been since new) in a meteallic Silver and I'm minded to have a complete strip down carried out and a re-paint, probably in a lairier colour (orange is top of the list) with a bonnet / nose stripe. Apart from some very minor cosmetic stuff she is in amazing order, bags of history and oodles of money been spent keeping her tip top and I think she probably now deserves to be put back to absolutely A1 'as new' condition.

Where is the 'go to' place for this type of thing these days and any ideas on a rough budget?

Thanks,

R300

I think generally £2 - £2.5k depending on level of detail/associated jobs..

TSK in Kent very well renowned and been doing it for over 25 years I believe so knows the script.. I was happy with my job recently..

You might not bother but ppf will add to the cost if you add that afterwards..

Good luck 👍

Depends on where you are based, but if south, then TSK is the place to go.

I believe they may offer a strip, paint and re-assemble service. Ring them and ask.

They were the people who probably painted your car for the factory. They have plenty of experience.

Yep thanks guys - contact made with Tony and she will be going up to him over the Winter for his strip down and repaint (in a lairier colour!) service.

I have a trackday booked next week for a shakedown, not driven her since 2012..!

Perfect. Thank you.

They take it back to bare metal scuttle off etc so a really thorough going over.

Decided on the Emira yet?? I bought the R300 back thinking I would ask for my Emira deposit back but still unsure until I actually DRIVE one!!

Not decided about the Emira. Kind of forgotten that I've actually ordered one as it's so far away. I can decide after a test drive. But mostly the problem is mine, I don't do much driving that I could use it for, It would look nice on the drive, but that's about it. It felt a good idea back in the last century when I placed a deposit, but much less relevant to me now!

I'm in exactly the same place on Emira. Lotus' handling of the delays (yes, I know about global supply shortages) is descending into farce. Has taken away so much of the original excitement.

By the way (OP) - great decision to use Tony's 'drive in/drive out' repainting service. The car will look stunning when completed.
