Have you considered a GPS speedo? Seems to be the simplest solution.

I bought a electronic speedo (autometer) needed to be in KPH and a speedo sender and adaptor form CBS

pretty easy conversion

Thanks for the ideas - I’m wanting to keep the car as original as possible so I’m looking for info how to swap from a mechanical Caterham speedo to an electronic Caterham speedo…

On the Caterham techtalk Facebook group there’s a guide to doing this. It uses a sensor that picks up the front disc mounting bolts and provides a signal to a post 2005 Caterham speedo.

I followed the guide on a 2002 car and it worked perfectly.
