After years and years of seeing C7's on the road, on the track .... having done a few Caterham days at Silverstone and chatted about them with friends..... I took the plunge..... I saw one and went for it. Im 6ft5 so needed the SV ..... It arrives next week. The wife is really really happy I have done it.

The technical bit (im not technical) .... Supersport, 125bhp, 2011 model ...... end of technical ability

So ..... what do I need to know?

Hampshire coast owner with yellow Roadsport 125.
Solent Sevens is my local L7 club group, meet on the last Friday of the month.

If you haven’t already got them a half hood and shower cap are worthwhile investments.

The SV Se7en is such a refined sports car, I knew on the test drive this was the best sports car I'd ever driven. I'm 6' exactly and yes the lowered floors were another excellent feature for me. Ride, handling, brakes, balance, vintage aesthetic... I could go on.. you're going to love it, have fun smile Paul

She’s arrived and so trip to farm shop early this morning to get breakfast for family! Blast around the lanes of Wickham - I’m hooked.

With your height, I hope you ticked the “Easy-In” option.

Your telling me you can fit a 6 ft 5 guy in there?

I'd always immediately writen off anything like this. Infact my wife jokingly said she'd only leave me for someone who has a caterham... hehe

I'm a mere 6ft 4... Telling me there's a chance I could actually fit a drive one of these. Amazing! Off to he classifieds.

I don’t think it’s the height that’s issue, more, erm, bulk….

I’m 6’4 and no way would I fit into an S3.

SV with lowered floors is the answer for anyone who’s not as skinny as a rake.

She said the same thing to me and I said…. Oh wait …. wink

Do it! It’s cosy but comfortable fit (I’m not ummm bulky as others said would be a problem!) smile

Height wise I'm sure people can be 6' 5+ with a lowered floor...regardless of S3 or SV...

Width wise you can be pretty wide before you really "need" an SV.

Tillets and a firm tug on the straps can get a 42"+ waist into an S3...

It's not height or width that made me choose an SV, it was shoe size. Size 10s and an S3 just felt dangerous

Certainly your average trainers IMO are too big and clunky, but I wear a simple “plimsole type” canvas shoe size 10 as my “driving shoes” having moved from an SV to a S3.

Size 10s are no problem. TADTS
For anybody else who's undecided, you just need ordinary non-chunky trainers, or any shoes without a wide welt.
