If anyone's interested - Jez is giving a seminar of the self builds this Wednesday (3rd Aug)at 7pm
"Caterham invites you to attend the first in a programme of technical seminars during which you will gain key insights to how the car is built and valuable knowledge from the highly respected Caterham Technical team. The first seminar is on <b>3rd August 2005, 7pm to 9pm</b>, and will be held at Caterham Cars Sales showroom in Caterham, Surrey. It is led by Jez Coates, Technical Director, and who has been responsible for Caterham’s product development for the last 25 years (including the new Caterham CSR 260). The first seminar will be run as a pilot and will focus on:
Seminar Agenda
The chassis and pre-fitted items
What is contained in the kit
Tools required for assembly
Special tools that may need to be hired (e.g. engine hoist)
Other things required for completion (e.g. lubricants)
Overview of how the car is assembled
How to use the assembly guide
The post build check
The SVA test
Q and A Session
Hints and tips for assembly
When to ask for help
What do I expect to receive in a CKD!
Whatever car you choose you will be supplied with the complete car in component form:
chassis fully fitted with wiring loom
brake lines
fuel lines
bodywork
windscreen
fuel tank
pedals and instruments.
All other parts are supplied and sorted ready for assembly and building time is typically around 70 - 100 hours. Each car is supplied with an illustrated assembly guide and a technical help line is available to help and re-assure you during the build.

In support of this programme Caterham has made available a limited number of self-build (CKD) slots for August 2005 delivery! Orders placed for these build slots will be eligible to a free Caterham Motorsport Club day*
