I am trying to remove, clean and repack the front wheel bearings.

I have removed the brake pads and caliper, and cable tied the later to the suspension, out the way of the disc.

I have removed the split pin and castellated nut from the stub axle. I have removed the spacer washer and was hoping the disk and hub would now pull off the axels, but it won’t budge.

I have sprayed some WD40 on it and left it to soak.

Should I use a hub puller, or are there better options / approaches?

They should pull straight off without too much effort. If they don't then the inner races are tight for some reason (possibly because they have been rotating on the stub axle) and may need a puller to free them, or you could try putting the wheel back on to give you something larger to pull with.

Thanks for the suggestions. Tried the wheel, it still didn’t budge. Purchased a hub puller and this removed the hub after a few turns on the centre bolt on the puller.
