Views on this 420r in the classifieds

Hi all

I’m looking to get a 420r and have seen this one advertised here. Does anyone have any views on it, good or bad? It’s obviously a non factory build but does that matter?

£40k for a good-as-new 420R SV seems like good value in the current market.

Slightly odd spec, what with ZZRs and a half cage, but then the leather seats.

However my first question would be why is the owner selling it after such a short ownership period?

I’d agree with the above.

It seems like a bit of an odd spec; partly road (seats / heater), and partly track (cage / setup) plus it’s had the standard air box removed.

I’d certainly go and see it, but my spidey senses would be tingling !

Thanks for the feedback. Went to see it earlier. It’s a great car in all but mint new condition.

The seller has a genuine reason for sale so I am completely reassured on that front.

I think it is specced this way as it’s a fast road car that is also used for the odd track day. It also has the full roof and door covers - but then again the upgraded ventilated 4 pot brakes & aero wishbones too for example.

Apart from the seats not being the hardbacks most of the other options don’t seem that odd to me, but maybe I’m missing something!

Great If your reassured, then go for it; Im sure it will give you some good times.

The reality is you’ll end up upgrading and changing the spec to suit what you want from the car anyway - most things are possible. Beware though; when upgraditis hits, it hits hard !
