New Caterham rear LED lights
Discussion
For me they look too “plain” when not illuminated when fitted to a car. Also not really a fan of resulting blanking plates covering the original fog/reverse lights, though obviously they’re necessary to cover up the original holes left.
Having said that I’m not a fan of the clear lens setup and that was the first modification I carried out to my present car.
At the end of the day different people have different tastes however for me traditional lights with either led bulbs or the specially made 3rd party LED units are my preference.
Be aware if you do purchase a set and want to fit them yourself, you’ll most certainly have to remove the boot floor in addition to the steps highlighted in the associated Caterham fitting guidance video, in order to properly access/fit the necessary components, which depending how your floor has been fitted originally, can add quite a bit of messing about.

They seem monumentally expensive for what they are, and not enough of a diversion from the standard setup (or standard lights with LED bulbs) to be worth the money.
I'd not realised they also integrate the fog and reverse light. I see three problems with that...
1-Doing something with the existing holes
2-Brake light being "lost" against the rest of the cluster, or confusing drivers when braking with fogs on
3-So many people have a SBFS shower cap or similar, where does the elastic now go to hold the back down?
Perhaps it might be an option on a brand new car, but it's not for me!

There’s seems to have been a trend in recent years since LEDs lights have become more mainstream for car designers to use ever “prettier” combined (and more expensive to replace!) designs that however end up with functionally worse IMO in terms of visual interpretation of the drivers intention by other road users.
My pet hate is the front DRL lights which have separate indicators adjoining them. Due to proximity and brightness of the DRLs you can sometimes struggle to register the indicators, unless of course I’m going blind :-)

Install Video is accurate, You dont need to Lift Boot floor!!
Infact i never even jack the car up.
Great looking lights, You need to see them in Action before you dismiss them,
Yes the Blacking covers are not idea,
But i wouldn't say the Rev and fog lights are stunning to look at either
To each his own, I'm buying a set as soon as.

If you watch the video from about 15:50 onwards (in the version I’ve seen linked from the Caterham after sales site) you’ll see the technician insert one of his hands from the top downwards through the boot space I.e. no boot floor in the way, and his other hand up from the bottom to join up the appropriate connections, hence my earlier comment.
If you can connect it all up from just working underneath the car that’s great, less work, but that’s not what was shown on this video

If the boot floor was out, why would you put your hand up from underneath? Surely, you'd just reach down?If you watch the video from about 15:50 onwards (in the version I’ve seen linked from the Caterham after sales site) you’ll see the technician insert one of his hands from the top downwards through the boot space I.e. no boot floor in the way, and his other hand up from the bottom to join up the appropriate connections, hence my earlier comment.

I just fitted a set of this. I can confirm there is no need to remove the boot floor or even jack the car up.
Fitted in about an hour and they look awesome. Just not having the horrible fog, number plate light and reverse light boxes is just worth it all day long.
Goodbye trailer lights
P's Ref the straps for the shower cap, use the bracket for the number plate light. does the same job and better.

When I first saw those the price made me laugh....watching that video I just fell of my chair. £150 for something you have to butcher the original lights for?Mind you, then I looked at Caterham's price (There's does at least incorporate reverse and fog lights).
