Holding out for the right car?
Discussion
Despite always being on my radar, it’s only within the last month that I’ve driven a Caterham (r400 Duratec) & keen to get one. I’ve missed out on one & have dismissed the one I drove as it had the stack dash& I much prefer traditional dials.
There don’t seem many r400’s (Sv) around, so wondering if I should ignore the stack instruments & crack on & get one. Any thoughts?

R400, SV, no stack dash ..... that's a very small number of cars already so you could be waiting a long time. Depends how much of a rush you are in to get one? If you don't mind waiting a year, I am sure the right car will come along. If you want to be driving this summer I suspect you may have to compromise or get lucky.
I personally really like the stack dash but appreciate everyone is different.

You probably will have to wait a while to get that combination as said above. That said, speak to the specialists and register your interest with them, that way you'll get first dibs when the right car comes along. That's how I got mine and it saved a lot of time trawling the classifieds.
I'm in the same boat. Been looking for a couple of months for an R400 S3..Have tried to keep an open mind on spec. I've driven a few that weren't quite right for various reasons. I've had wanted ads everywhere and left details with dealers etc..Looks like I may have now found a car but will found out if it's right on Sunday..
One things clear, you need to be really quick to secure a car if you want to avoid missing something nice..
Good luck..
