Duratec 2.0 or 2.5. Pro's and Con's?

I'm a bit out of touch to be honest, I read that the 2.5 is taller than the 2.0, but it's the same if the VVT is removed. I also read something about removing the balance shaft... The 2.5 has impressive torque curve, how much difference to that does removing the VVT make? Caterham themselves only use the 2.0.
I'm hungry for knowledge, what can you knowledgeable people tell me?

I've run both and they are basically similar but the 2.5L is 13 mm taller and use larger manifolds. But you can use a combination of the two (2L head) and get good results. Removing the VVT is straight forward if you follow the advice available with the deletion kits, or use a non VVT head. Balance shaft need to go to get a Caterham type sump on.
