Any Suzuki engined triple owners?
Discussion
I keep having a hankering for a 60th anniversary Supersprint or similar although as stunning as one looks, I'm a little concerned about the quality of the drivetrain.
Speed isn't so much an issue, I had an MX5 NC a few years ago and found that pleasant enough for the road (if a little lacking on track), more that the turbo triple engine will lose a little of the 7 essence.
The actual turbo driving experience probably isn't too much of an issue in something so light but reviewers seem to focus on the gearbox, the ratios and action.
Are there any owners out there who have put some miles on them and how are you getting on?

It's the braking that would worry me (mostly due to the eco tyres). Reviewers rave about the "fun handling" at relatively low speeds, but when a Caterham has the worst 60-0mph time of ALL the cars listed in Autocar's road tests (apart from one van based MPV I think), then it's time to worry.
As Oddball said in 'Kelly's Heroes', "We like to feel we can get out of trouble, quicker than we got into it."

Watching this thread with interest. Got a hankering to try one myself. It's finding one to try, they seem to be few and far between. Guessing they aren't the runaway success that older models were.
The Suzuki Triple wasn't bad in the Cappuccino which I drove a few years ago. Presumably the engine has been slightly updated since the mid 90's! Be nice to see it in a more modern application!

Is this true? It's at odds with much of what I've read.I’ve got a supersprint, Aintree Green. Owned for a couple of months. No regrets. Looks are just right with the retro styling and it is a blast to drive. Turbo whooshing and chattering. Gear ratios are a little weird but engine is a fun little thing. Never had any issues with tires or brakes. The diff makes a racket at low speed turns

Mrs C bought me one as a present.
Epic wife points there.
Amazing fun at ordinary speeds and a lot of slightly bonkers character and specialness thrown in.
Everyone likes it, you get waves, smiles, requests for pics, children want to sit in it.
Its very small size means it fits in my single garage with masses of space left over, fridge, dryer, workbench, shelves, homebrew equipment all fit in and I can easily walk around. I've never even attempted to try to fit a modern car in my garage before.
Plus very cheap to run.
But...
Very impractical
Its a tight fit, weight watchers loves this car.
Any attempt to travel in poor weather will be a joke.
Feels a bit exposed and fragile, you really don't want to bump, or get bumped by, anything in this one.
Very limited wheel and tire choice if you want alloys, I've searched the internet and Minilites don't seem to go up to a 39mm offset in the right size, there are Watanabe type R (14x5 eight spoke which look like Minilites if you squint) and Volk Racing CE28N 8 spoked 14-50 39ET in silver to special order. I didn't find much else that I liked and I really did search hard, those are a bit pricey too so I'm sticking with steels for now.

I'd be amazed if Image couldn't help out with their bespoke wheel sizing.

At £369 +VAT per wheel, I'd stick with the steelies too! But they do look rather nice. I'd be amazed if Image couldn't help out with their bespoke wheel sizing.
Great looking car!, enjoy.
“ despite very little in the way of views from owners”
In the case of the 60th Supersprint judging by what comes up in the classified since their introduction, many seem to have been bought by either by “collectors” or people hoping to make a fast buck, not owners who actually use them as intended!
