Hi, did anyone enter the Avon Win a Caterham competition?

I got the whole family to buy a set of tyres and enter, but no word back: I just received an email from Avon to say that the winners have all been notified: They say thay can't post anything on their website until the winner of the first prize claims it.. Seriously! Someone has been notified that they have won a Caterham Acadamy car and is not claiming it??

I think there are 33 pizes in total: 16 weekend hire of a Caterham + 16 Motor Show tickets + 1 Caterham, so you would expect to hear some feedback from the winners: Anywone heard anything?

I won a “second” prize, I nearly pissed my pants reading the email... have i won?!? But alas no free caterham! Lol.

But pleased with my win of a weekend hire, always wanted to but couldn’t justify the cost. Never driven a caterham so looking forward it, I’m in South Wales so will be nice spend a few days bombing around the Brecon Beacons. smile
I’d love to own one, just hope I don’t get hooked and then need to buy one. Lol.

Well done Browna from another South Walian. Who did you go through? I went through ATS.

I checked my emails and spam, but no joy unfortunately.

Enjoy the Beacons blast!

Won by somebody who "doesn't know much about cars" and has probably never heard of Caterham. Shame. I don't think we'll be seeing her on the grid next year!

Congratulations Browna!

And I have to say that I agree with Matt that it's a shame the prize hasn't gone to someone who it would really mean a great deal to. I think basically any petrol head!

I also can't justify the cost, hence my clone (pre-lit Westfield 7SE).. Got my hopes up with this competition thinking that with COVID there would be only a few entries, but no luck!!

I'm detecting a some 'unconscious bias' here! I wouldn't want judge the winner. Back in the sixties my grandfather won a car and he couldn't even drive! It was a life changing event for him with the money from selling going towards buying a house. The Caterham will find a good home, don't worry.

There is no unconcious bias. She was just as entitled as anybody else to win the prize and I wish her all the best. I'm sure the car will end up being used by somebody who loves it and the compeition winner will either have a great car or some cash in the bank. However, there are a huge number of people out there who would love to have a go at racing but can't afford to, and it would have been wonderful if one of those people had been the lucky winner.

I really hope she proves me wrong, does the Academy and has a wonderful time.
