I think I've finally found "my" Caterham and need to sort out some insurance. I live in London, car will be garaged, likely 3-5k miles with some trackday cover, euro trips etc.

Any suggestions (or people to avoid)? I have used Classic Line before and the dealer suggested A Plan but I have no experience of them.

Thanks

A-plan are used by a huge number of kit car owners, I also use them for my Cayman. But contact the Thatcham Branch specifically, as they are the ones that deal with "specialist" vehicles.

Always had really good service off them.

Try MSM Insurance. Great to deal with.

Avoid Adrian Flux.
Terrible. Paid out against me without even confirming if I’d been in a collision.

Footman James were very competitive for me (in London too) and service has been good.

Another +1 for A-Plan in Thatcham. Also worth joining the Lotus 7 Club for a discount on insurance and other aspects of Caterham life.

A Plan, Footman James, REIS tend to be 3 that often come up.

I'm with REIS and have been for years (switched form FJ)....but it can depend on your personal circumstances.

Thanks all for the suggestions. L&W wouldn't cover my postcode (central London) and A Plan & MSM were considerably more expensive than my quote from Classic Line so going with them - 3k pa, Euro cover, trackdays, £150 xs, includes 3 named drivers and agreed value.

Hope to pick up next week!

Flux matched my L&W quote this year but I stuck with L&W

£179
3k miles and 5 track days
£150 std excess

Yeah, they didnt fill me with confidence over the phone tbh, hence staying with L&W.

3k!? Do you live in Afghanistan?

I've had my car since I was 25 and I don't think I've ever even got close to 4 figures smile

I think that’s the agreed mileage, not the premium.
D’you want to get your coat, or shall I?
