Thinking of spec'ing a carbon dash for my kit that is currently on order.

... Do they tarnish quickly? Ie would it look tatty after a few years? (do the standard dash coverings last longer?)

I'd definitely go for the 620 spec dash, carbon and switchgear will age much better, plus it gets rid of the nightmare blinding headlight light on the standard dash

I built a 360 R with a carbon dash. Only three years and 7000 miles but all good.

My 2004 R300 has a carbon dash fitted as standard. It is still as good as new. The arear to watch is the front Carbon Fibre wheel covers that get affected by rain. However, a regular squirt of Wood Silk Polish does the trick. I can't comment on the quality of the CF they use now. Piers

My carbon dash is 5 years old, it’s fine. So are my wings for that matter.

Yes you can, I did it when I ordered my 420r kit, in my opinion the 620 dash looks so much better than the horrid standard dash with the big clunky switches. From memory think it cost about £1k

Wow, £1000 for different switches?

Have to agree that the standard stuff isn’t the most attractive, I much prefer the push button dash in my R400, never understood why they reverted to the ‘traditional’ dash.

Damn right... when paying £45k for a 420 kit, a tiny £1k for the 620 dash is pence for a marked improvement for something thats constantly in your eye line wink

overall the caterham options are pretty reasonably priced... the most scandalous option price is that of SV when you have no choice as you're too tall for an S3... its positively discriminatory smile
