I'm not getting my kit until next Feb, but the plan is to build it, IVA it and take it on a 1 month tour of Europe all in a 6 month sabbatical.

... I'm now getting worried about the delay in IVAs!

Now I know that nobody can predict what next year will be like, but I wondered what, if anything, I could do to mitigate the risk of a long wait for the IVA?

Is it possible to apply for multiple IVAs?
If I applied before I finished the kit, could I postpone?
Can I apply before I've even got the kit, or do I need chassis numbers etc?

Any other ideas? I don't mind wasting several hundred pounds if I can reduce the risk of not getting to do the European road trip during the sabbatical.

Thanks

Where are you Dave? Will the car be PBC’d by CC? It might be worth speaking to them and having them put it through the IVA. A bit more cost but they’ll have slots booked and could be more flexible than you maybe. It might be cheaper than you booking wasted slots.

Thanks, yes I live near to Caterham Gatwick, so was going to get them to IVA it.

.. So do they have pre booked slots?

My car was presented for IVA by CC in Jan 2020 but I had to apply myself & there were no per- booked IVA slots. From CC collecting the car , carrying out PBC & IVA took 7 weeks.

Thanks, 7 weeks is fine, I intend to spend two months building it, which gives me 3 months to IVA and 1 month of touring.
