If you want to mail me a message with a contact number etc, I'll post it in the Wanted section on Blatchat.
You might also want to try www.seventorque.com/forum/index.php as well
Cheers, and good luck!

Have you considered this 225bhp Duratec engined car instead?*

Looking at Duratecs might be a cost effective way to get hold of R500-like performance.

*I don't know the car, not have any affiliation with the owner, just happened to spot it in the classifieds.

One of the first built - I considered it but then bought a Ferrari instead

But R500s can now be found for the same money and even less (but some of the cheaper cars do have a "history".

Having said that, if I wanted a Caterham for track days, for peace of mind I'd think about a Duratec, although having seen just how hard Jeremy pedals his SLR, my opinion (and experience) of highly tuned Ks may have changed slightly.

The Duratec referred to in the link was Racelines development car so will be extremely well built and fettled.

However it doesn't have the right trackday bits on it so you'd end up spending more to get it track ready (I don't even think it's wide track?). Not to mention the fact it doen't have all the carbon bits we all like to have.

I'm not that convinced that wide track is an essential piece of kit for the track. Particularly on the lighter engined cars.

And cf is more of a liability (though looks lovely and does save some weight ).

Having owned both an R500 and an SLR type car (K with similar power), I've kept the lower powered car.

R500s are like any other 7 handling wise - it can be configured as you like it with time and fiddling.

But the power delivery isn't as nice as on a well sorted SLR which makes it much more difficult to drive smoothly. Peddling an R500 round a circuit quickly is a very rewarding experience. But I suspect most mortals would be doing so with an SLR more often, as you don't have to be in the mood quite so much...if you see what I mean.

I have an R500 for sale now reduced to £20,000

From blatchat

The car was built in 2000 and has done 7000 miles

The car was advertised in the autumn, however it has since been to Seven workshop
to tidy it up and to ensure that there were no problems prior
to sale.
Work included thorough mechanical checks, new carbon front and rear wings.
The bill came to £ 2860, the car is now very tidy.

This brings the cost of work done by Seven Workshop alone in getting the
car up to standard to £4700 in the last 1000 miles. Mot to March 06.
In addition Aryliam has fitted ACBs {still unworn} and an oil
thermostat mod to improve oil temperature consistency and a new 22% rack.

The engine had a thorough check by Minister at around 6000 miles with cambelt
change.
Minister "refreshed" the engine at around 5000 miles. All mods had
previously been done during a full rebuild in May 01 at 2600
miles
Fitted with small front lights and lowered font wing stays. An Oil
thermostat mod +piping was fitted by Arylium 300 miles ago to improve oil
temperature consistency
Large Bag tank. Plumbed in fire extinguisher, Fuel Cut off switch.
Fitted with The R roll cage and deflector also comes with All weather
gear screen Tonneau hood bag. Spare bonnet and front wings.
+ miscellaneous spares.
New "Freestyle" adjustable front roll bar.
The sump is currently alloy and the nosecone
fibreglass.
The car is painted in Kingfisher Blue with a McClaren orange stripe round the front
of the nosecone and perfect high gloss carbon wings.
Chassis number 9
All receipts are available.
