Has one driven a Caterham on the German Autoban?
How fast?

No idea, but I spotted a look-alike last week on the Autobahn between Dresden and Krakow. Perhaps one of those Dutch thingies?

More to the point, why would you want to? Caterhams are designed to go fast round corners and in short straights. Having said that the higher powered versions (R500 and the new CSR) should see around 140-150mph. The bricklike aerodynamics will prevent much higher speeds. My humble 135bhp car will hit around 115 on the back straight at Snetterton and I have seen over 120mph on a *cough* private test track. Around 80-90mph the acceleration drops away dramatically as I have a windscreen - with an aeroscreen the results would be better.

my xflow (on a private test track) reached 189km/h when it hit the rev limiter in top gear at 7000 rpm

135 down Snett back straight with CR500 tyres and 250bhp - similar to my old Radical. 145 on an, ahem, private test track. But the fun is in the corners - or as long as you're still sideways down the straights
