OMG 3 hours trying to get my race seats installed soooooo frustrating there has got to be a trick to this

I am thinking JB weld the bolts to the frame and hopefully the holes well four of the six drilled in the floor plan will allow the seat to drop in

A spot of weld on each bolt before installation makes it incredible easy.

You could open the holes up slightly in the floor. They are going to be covered by a large washer anyway. Make sure you only just catch the threads on each bolt to leave the seat loose to move around until all bolts are started.

This is what I did.

Don’t see how you can possibly tighten the bolts otherwise.

You can use M8 bolts that wont physically turn within the seat rails if they are the adjustable type.

Alternatively use a socket from underneath and preload the 40mm washer with a flat blade screwdriver (also from below) to pull the bolt head down as you tighten it with the socket. I know what you mean though having just done this job myself its a real PITA. Harness in seat in harness out seat out adjust height and repeat..

Widen the holes a few mm.

The passenger side is easy because its fixed and the alloy box section has a retained thread.

Cap head bolts securing my seats. Put the short end of an allen key in the top, then turn the nut from the bottom. The allen key will rotate until it contacts a bit of seat / rail / chassis and stop, at which point you can tighten the nut.
