Caterham 21 Wanted - I think!
Discussion
I am in the fortunate position of being able to buy something interesting for the garage again (as long as I promise my wife that it won't depreciate!)
Having owned a 1.4 Supersport and a VX HPC in the past - and dearly regretting selling them both- I'd really like another Caterham. I have always had a love of the 21 shape but can't find any for sale at the moment. If anyone knows of any that might be coming on the market I'd love to hear from them.
Also, has anyone got any experience of owning / driving a 21?
Many thanks in advance
Simon

Have you seen this one https://www.lotus7.club/forum/sale/sale-my-caterha...
I've got one, had it nearly 20 yrs now. Only comes out in the summer and misses the occasional one.
Stock 1.6 was the slowest engine so won't be any quicker than your 1.4 7 was. There are only about 5 vhpd cars, one with a vx vauxhall engine and one with a duratec. The rest are 1.6/1.8 K series.
Mine is a 1.6ss so 145 bhp ish. Its really not that quick and I imagine a little softer than a 7, I've never driven one!
Check the chassis - cc seemed to forget how to powder coat then. The body is a real pita to remove too for a full strip down.
Cooling is fun as the rad lies flat on the floor!
Its a nice car to drive. My opinion is that it didn't sell because it was marketed as an alternative to the s2000/z3 or chimaera whereas in reality was far more raw then they were. The elise didn't help either.
There is a se7ens.net list we all use but its not exactly busy.
I can't just think of anyone in Kent with one but if you are passing along the m4 give me a shout.
