TTS Superchargers
Discussion
Has anyone with a 2.0 duratec had it supercharged by TTS?
I have a Birkin with a 245bhp uprated internals 2.0 duratec and was wondering how feasible the upgrade would be.
Aslo, would an intercooler be necessary?
Cheers
ps Why on earth would duratec be autocorrected to durance?? This is PH not Dance Mums!!

It is certainly becoming more popular to supercharge the Duratec, probably because of the 620, and it does give a lot of power. But it is not all gain as you will be adding weight and complexity. On a new engine build it probably makes sense, but less so as a bolt on upgrade job.
The CR will be need be correct to get any worthwhile gain, and if you have a NA engine that effectively could mean a rebuild. The cooling needs modified as there's no space for the thermostat. So it would be £2k for the kit, probably similar for the inter-cooler and plenum (and all the bits you don't think of like a new nose for the inter-cooler), and possibly an engine rebuild too. At that price you have other options like the 2.5L which can produce similar power at a lower weight.
