I've just had to replace the battery on my Caterham, so ordered a new Banner.
Following to the instructions I've popped out the red transit plug where the breather pipe should attach, but found that this was on the negative terminal side whereas the original battery had the breather on the positive terminal side.

Now the existing pipe is clipped in and won't reach round to the negative terminal, so I though I'd just pop out the black plug on the positive side and block up the negative side. Shouldn't really be a problem should it?

Until I read Banner's website where it says it fine to do that on some battery models but not the Starting Bull type that the Caterham uses.

Has anyone had a new Banner recently and which side are you using for the breather/vent?

Thanks

Had a new one about 3 years ago, there was no breather pipe fitted when I bought the car.

Mine is fitted on the right (assuming I'm looking at the front of the car with the Banner sticker on front of me). The pipe is then cable tied around the other cables/pipes in the area and is drained just in front of the passenger footwell near the washer bottle.

I vaguely remember having the move the plug when I bought it, but honestly can't remember. It doesn't look like anything has ever accidentally sloshed out.

Thanks for the reply. It sounds like yours is how my new battery wants to be and opposite to how the old one was.

I'll unclip and move the pipe across to the other side.
