Cleaning inside glass of speedo

Evening,

Before I waste a day tomorrow trying, is it an easy job to remove the glass from the speedo and rev counter in order to clean the inside? Both seemed to have had humidity dry ugly in them.

Versions I have are the needle ones but with digital mileage.

The simple answer is NO as the bezels are swaged on and a bugger to get off. But it can be done with lots of time and patients.

Bugger, then they might need replacing...

By swaged I guess you mean rolled edge?

After 17 years I decided to treat my gauges to a facelift. I sent them to Speedy Cables in Swansea who cleaned the glass and fitted new bezels on 3 small gauges (fuel, pressure, temp) and 2 large gauges (tacho and speedo) and returned them to me for £104. This was for the older style VDO gauges.

do you have a photo of the clocks ? ive managed to get the face off vdo and crimp them back on

use a thin screwdriver to work around the back edge until it comes off , then flatten/crimp it back down with a block of steel /wood working your way around a few mm at a time
