Good morning all,
My car a 1999 1.6 rover engined car came with the all in one powerspeed 421 and silencer.
The seller told me the cat is inside the silencer.Could this be the case ?

yep most likely. The same is true of the standard caterham K series exhaust, the cat is built into the silencer.

I have the same year car as you with the same spec . My Powerspeed as NO cat , the way to tell is there should be a plug in the collector pipe . If you remove the plug you should then be able to see if there is a cat .

Hi,

If you mean where the secondaries met just before the silencer, there is nothing there.
I will have another look at it tomorrow.

I have a 2005 car with Powerspeed 4-2-1 exhaust. The cat is inside the silencer can nearest to the inlet so you wont see it from the outside. The only way I found mine was when I separated the end cap to repack the material inside. Its a smaller cat than the separate one and may not achieve the same full effect in my experience.
