2012 R300 SV Duratec wet sump

Just curious to hear peoples opinions on this one.

My oil pressure gauge is constantly moving around between 2-5.8 bar (~30-84psi). Every small change in engine rpm seems to be met with a change in oil pressure. At warm idle, it sits at about 2 bar (30psi) at higher rpms it seems to be moving (in line with rpm) between 3 to 5.8 bar (44-84psi). Most gauges I see in videos do not respond this quickly to pressure changes. Is there something wrong here?

I had a similar issue on my 360, resolved by replacing the oil sender unit.

My oil pressure gauge is very responsive. At idle when warm it will sit at 2 bar and the needle will blip with the engine just like a tacho needle. However as the revs rise, it reaches a plateau of 5.5 bar around 2-3k RPM and doesn't go any higher.

Unless I am very much mistaken, that is operating as it should. I've certainly never considered replacing the sender because of it.

Same here and agree.
