No, unfortunately not one of those Nomex things, but a variation on the 'how practical' question:

Need to wear a suit for work and get to client offices in presentable condition - is a Caterham totally out or can it work?

Any advice gratefully received!

It can be done (I don't generally wear a suit, but I went to a wedding in mine. Getting the wife in and out in a frock was interesting) But if it's wet or the car is dirty then it's hard to avoid rubbing your leg getting in, particularly with the roof on. There's also a bit of grease on the splines of the quick release wheel that I occasionally catch a knee on.

(I have an SV which is less tight than a normal 7 btw)

Hope that helps

entry in suit/kilt isn't that bad a thing to do, especially once you work out how to best do it.
the following presumes you have the hood up/on:

1) open door
2) put jacket on passenger's seat
3) lean in, put hands on transmission tunnel
4) lean into car, leveraging on said tunnel, swing left then right foot in
5) close door, strap up, put on steering wheel

reverse order the above to exit, and voila, no grunge on suit/kilt

this has worked very well for several years for me

An original Climax engined Lotus Seven Stage lV was my daily (hoodless) transport from '62 - '65. Aeroscreens and a tonneau cover. Big sheepskin coat with a permanently wet right shoulder and water proof overtrousers if it was really p*ssing down, goggles, gloves, back-to-front flat hat (or my old m/cycle bone dome if really cold) completed the ensemble. On a fine day suit with tie well tucked in :

I'm only posting this 'cos the ache in my right shoulder reminded me of happy days as I drifted sidways through your forum.....grew up got sensible and in my dotage drive a Chimaera...so there's hope for you guys in the years to come
