Tyre replacement
Discussion
Hi
My caterham has been in for a MOT and I am apparently in need of two new back tyres. Currently I have on Yokohama A021R 185-70-HR13 tyres on all wheels.
The tyres are no longer road legal apparently but I think I can use them all until they are done. Any ideas of what I should put on the back wheels? Ideally about the same price as above...
I use the car everyday rain or shine.
Cheers
Andy

Toyo R888R's are an option. A road legal update to their 888's.
I too run Yoko 21's on mine. Used daily also, so probably like you, the 21's work well.
The new 888 is still more of a dry weather trye than a wet weather. I used to use Yoko 048's and then I changed to Toyo 888's. Come the winter (and I think the cold more than the wet weather) the tyres weren't great. I then swapped to the 21's and they were the best fit.
When my current 21's expire, I'll probably go for the new 888's, but winters aren't really the same here, so I have hopefully left that issue behind.

I had problems getting Yoko's AO48's - same reason discontinued and new ones are no longer road legal. Eventually went for end of the line stock but only softs available so we'll see how long they last
