Wheel Nut Options - What to Use?
Discussion
With my new 13" Apollo Wheels came a set of wheel nuts like the one on the right in the image (no washer).
Currently on my car (with the 15" wheels) are the type on the left in the image (with the seperate washer).
Which ones should I be using with the new Apollo wheels?
I would have thought he ones with the washer would be better because of the friction when tightening onto relatively soft alloy wheels, but then why would the Apollo wheel come with the non-washer nuts?

This used to puzzle me too, but I think it's simply for ease of manufacture. One nut, and the washer to set the correct angle seat. There may be some advantage to reduce friction when torquing them up, but probably of no significance. The 'all in one' version will be fine if the seat is correct for the wheel.
Edit to add: I believe the wheels have steel seats pressed into them.
