A couple of cars I'm looking at don't have heaters. How essential is it to have one? I won't use my car when there is salt on the road but otherwise do drive (and ride) all year.

I really enjoy having a heater in my Seven as I have a screen and side screens, it is even more effective if the half hood is on and my passengers are always asking for me to put the heater on.

Without the screen, there would be little point having the heater I suspect. You can always retro fit a heater, or buy an electrically heated jacket.

I have an aeroscreen and still find the heater very useful. Obviously not for chest or higher, but it still makes a big difference to the lower half of your body. It's easy to put a big jacket on, and being comfortable in only jeans on the bottom half is convenient.

A simple retro fit assuming that your loom has the connector unused under the dash. As mentioned, it only caters from your crotch down though.

Some aeroscreened hard men who claim to drive in T shirts all year round will tell you that you are a wuss if you have a heater. I wouldn't be without one - if I'm driving through the NY Moors near home on a cold Spring morning or crossing the Cairngorms in snow flurries why the f***k wouldn't I want a heater?

I have a heater in mine, but for some reason doesn't really warm up that much, so never bother having it on. Perhaps needs looking at but I'm not really that bothered.

I'd rather have a heated suit. I make do with thermals and a fleece when it's cold. Face is the coldest bit even with a full face helmet as I've an aero screen.

I just ordered a car with an aeroscreen but ordered a heater.

I don't fancy the idea of numb feet when trying to push on.

Warm feet must be good.
