How do people feel about mixing Avon ZZR tyre compounds?

E.G. soft fronts, with medium rears?

My theory is that with 180bhp I don't need soft rears (that are already 30mm wider than the fronts), but that the extra stickiness up front is alway good for turn-in and braking. Does my theory hold?

Mixing compounds between front and rear is not a problem. Which way round you fit them is up to you, and is really about the way you use the car. I use softer on the rear as I find it balances the car better from cold (I do sprint type events). You may find soft compound on the front are not up to the job if you like pushing hard. Braking and cornering forces can be harder on the front (and are using a smaller tyre) than the rear, even with the added traction. But ultimately the best way is to try them and find out for yourself.
