Hello

Mine went on the way home today. Where can I get a new one for a 1998 k series?

Many thanks

I used to have a spare clutch and throttle cable in the car. That worked brilliantly, they didn't break after that!

Yep I'm going to buy a couple and keep one in the car with a Philips screwdriver. Thankfully AA man rigged one up for me, good man that...

Also you might want to think about fitting a pedal stop in the pedal box to stop over stretching the cable.

I carry spare clutch and throttle cables "cable" (Ha-ha) tied to the diagonals in the engine bay.

Hi Andy,

You can get a pedal stop from Caterham
http://caterhamparts.co.uk/product.php?id_product=...

As you can see, it is basically a threaded bar which you fit though the side of the pedal box positioned so that the top of the pedal hits the disc when you depress the clutch. Idea is you adjust it so that the 'stop' is just past the bite point.

Can't find a picture on line right now but if you are keen to do it I will see if I can post up a picture of mine.

Cheers
SS

Caterham ? they did manufacture it always amazes when people ask where they can buy stuff from for a Caterham

I know people may say its 'cheaper' elsewhere such as eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/k-series-caterham-clutch...

It must be a bargain at £12 as opposed to £28 but I suspect it won't last long........(so is it a bargain?)

Maybe it's because Redline have them in stock and Caterham don't and never do . . . . .

Never had problem buying mine from Caterham always keep a spare in the boot and when I need to replace it Caterham provide me with another. Just checked and they have 6 in stock http://www.caterhamparts.co.uk/product.php?id_prod... (so it may not be true that Caterham never do)

I've had my 7 for some 30+ years.
Don't thunk I've ever purchased any components from Caterham.
Either our of stock, or so over priced as to be almost amusing.

Me too, I have my car serviced by them, and buy my parts from them, could I save a few pennies here and there sure I could but if no one purchased anything from Caterham because it was too dear they wouldn't be in business and I would suggest they are not over priced (waits to get flamed)

If you are that tight you can buy a 2nd hand one on eBay for £12, or a new one that 'fits' a 7 for £22 or for £29 get one from Caterham..........if I'm off on a European tour I know which one i would buy but as they say the choice is yours save a few quid buy 2nd hand and you may be lucky
