I fitted an aero screen over the weekend and am enjoying the experience, however being a short arse and having a lowered floor I would prefer a clear screen, I know Meteor supply one, but I have also seen pictures of what looks like a standard screen which has been cut down, has anybody tried this as an alternative?

I know, I know, but I just wanted to give it a try, will be on the phone once I've discovered that I can't angle grind glass!

I've seen a couple of Caterham's with low windscreens. The glass appeared to be level with the top of the side windscreen support stanchions.

What about Brooklands screens as an alternative?

Steve Winterberg had a nice option on his 7...cut down stanchions with a Perspex screen. He claimed it made the car that little bit faster. I told him he'd get the same result by losing some weight. I couldn't repeat what his answer was...but the mod looked pretty easy to do. As Chris says, you could try Brooklands too

Uncle Albert, from The 7 Workshop, made a cut-down screen, but the rake of the screen is all wrong, and it caused a lot of turbulence in the cockpit...

He has now changed the rake, and it's better, but a set of Brooklands would be far better and easier.

Thanks, I did wonder the stock screen is very upright, I think I'm going to get some stanchions as well so I can mess with the rake
